Born Pretty Store Nail Art Brush Set Review

Hey Everyone!

I like to do basic nail art every so often, but I don’t do crazy intricate stuff so I don’t have many tools other than my beloved dotting tools and striping tape.  It was about time I got a hold of some nail art brushes since I think they’re a pretty basic necessity for anyone interested in nail art. I was recently sent a nail art brush set from Born Pretty Store for review and as much as I was excited to use nail art brushes, I wasn’t too happy with this set.

As much as I wanted to like these brushes I just couldn’t. The first thing I noticed about them is how cheap they feel. The brush handles are hollowed out thin plastic with little cap like things on the end that serve no purpose other than color indication. The whole thing basically looks like a cheap pen with with the ink and ball point taken off. I can get around the brush handles, BUT the actual brush hairs are very very cheap quality.

As you can see the middle brush had stray hairs that were bent and the whole head of the brush is on a weird bend. I’m no nail art expert, but I believe the hairs should be straight. Plus there were chunks of weird glue stuck on the metal colored park of the red brush.

I made a simple stripe mani, just to get a feel for the brushes. For my base color I used Essie Navigate Her and used OPI My Vampire Is Buff and Zoya Snow White for my stripes.

I’m not overly happy with my lines it was hard to control with that weird bend and out of the 3 brushes I didn’t find much of a variance in the width of the lines it gave me. It felt more like just 3 different lengths of brush heads.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend this nail art brush set. It retails for $2.57 which is pretty cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. I would suggest saving your $2 and change and using it towards a slightly higher priced set that will give you better quality.
